Federal Economic Impact Payments

The U.S. government issued three rounds of Economic Impact Payments (stimulus checks) to help Americans during the COVID-19 pandemic. Here's a complete overview:

First Payment (CARES Act - March 2020)

  • Up to $500 per qualifying child under 17

Second Payment (December 2020)

Third Payment (American Rescue Plan - March 2021)

  • Completely phased out at $80,000 (single) / $160,000 (married)
